Planning & Design
The first step in the design process is for us to fully understand what you really want the design to achieve including any specific needs it must meet. Our designers have been designing residential and commercial extensions for a number of years and have worked with a variety of customers with a range of differing needs. We feel that this give us a great advantage in supporting you in making the best design decisions possible.

JVF London works in all areas of the design process which gives us a distinct advantage in considering every aspect of the design. For example, we will always review just how the design will be constructed and what structural elements might be required. This process can really support in avoiding excessive costs being ‘lumped on’ at latter stages which we have found to be a real and potential risk.

We have a substantial working knowledge of planning guidelines across all of the London Boroughs and this helps us to ensure that the design has the best chance of being accepted by the Local Authority in question. We are also well versed in Permitted Development Rights and can maximise the space allowed and make sure that you get the biggest and best space possible. To understand the difference between Permitted Development and a Planning application please see link.

We not only complete the design and submit the application but we also follow up on the application once submitted to the Local Authority. We will speak personally with the planning officer to ensure that we have the best possible chance of gaining permission and will make any appropriate changes that they might require for a successful outcome without compromising the final project.

Once the application is submitted and validated by the council it is then reviewed for an eight-week period before a decision is made. Once this permission has been granted you can move onto the next step of the process. Building your dream. So whether you know exactly what you want or have no idea at all please be assured that we are here to help and guide you through the process. Please call or email now for an informal discussion.
